I first started roleplaying with my best friend! We had one of those composition notebooks and we'd write our characters when we got bored during class (Highschool) and then pass it to each other in the halls or whenever se saw each other after our portion was done! We ended up with a good 5-6 notebooks full by the time we graduated!

Though my first online roleplaying experiece was either a Warrior Cats forum site. Though the one I lived on the most often was a site called Vampires the Dark Alleyway. xD Though it was more of a game with a chat for one liner roleplaying than actual writing.

I'm so happy I found this website, it's more along my style of writing than having to try to get my entire post entered in multiple sectioned pieces before anyone else wrote anything. lol

I think I was 11 or 12, and lying about my age, on this site called Frenzoo. They had a roleplay section of their forums, and I believe that's where I first started, and I know I also did someone 1x1s with another 11 or 12 year old that was lying about their age.

It was such a mess, but I met some good people on there that protected me from the worst of things and helped me become a better writer.

Really gonna date myself here, but the first places I remember finding RP folks was on instant messenger chat rooms like MSN, Yahoo, AIM, etc. After discovering it there I started refining my skill mostly on Gaiaonline.com back when it was more focused on roleplay like so many others here. Also played around on a couple of the RP servers on World of Warcraft, but that wasn't really my preferred place.

There were some very unique RP servers on a shared artboard site called iScribble.com too. Unfortunately, at the time, I couldn't draw nearly as fast to participate so I mostly just watched lol

Neopets!

The good ol'days of a 13/yo RaccoonGoon roleplaying the most obnoxious, ridiculous plots script-style. All with the site's extremely strict censors, character limit, and thread post limit. It's absolutely nuts that I still carry some of what I cam up with in those RPs in my writing today. c:

Sometimes I think about the 2 or 3 friends I wrote with back then, and I hope they're doing okay.

I first started writing my own little stories … then when the internet came out (that makes me sound so old) I found myself in a whole new world, but My first one I can remember … It was a harry potter forum through the WB website.. and then from there...

Oh sheesh, I've been doing it for a while, I often wrote stories and read books an unholy amount, I think my first official roleplay was with a friend in my younger years, it was creating stories using plastic ponies, then it branched into something far greater. What I consider my first official roleplay would be, a roleplay about a ice dragon dating a fire dragon called Tundra and Flame XD But, I did play animal jam, webkinz, etc.

Then, I discovered fanfic, and shit went nuts. Been over a decade lmao

A friend invited me to Live Action Role Play (LARP). I didn't expect to enjoy it but it was fun. I sewed my own costume, very simple compared to others, and meant to make leggings but ran out of time so ended up a petite miniskirts female peasant warrior, 'fighting' against big men and knights and ... orcs.

Although the rules at events are strict, it did not escape me how erotic it was to face, and sometimes grapple with, great orcs and other monsters: a d afterwards I developed a detailed - and highly sexual - fantasy where the orcs were real and there were no rules to hold back their fierce and, in ny fantasy very sex-crazed, overwhelmingly stronger natures.

After a while I wanted to talk about it: to discuss my weird obsession but so to play it out with others, so I searched for 'sex chat' and eventually found this site.

I know little of the rules of formal role play but what I lack in formal correctness I try to make up in enthusiasm.

I now do more than orcs but my orc gangbang fantasy is still my most intense.

I stumbled across a Dutch fantasy forum about 20 years ago, after I finished high school. They talked about writing and books there and hosted some writing competitions. They also had roleplays going. My first characters were a water mage and a female dwarf.
And somehow after that I started roleplaying male characters and stuck to that. I honestly don't know why that shift happened, but I don't often play female characters anymore.

I haven't used the female dwarf ever since, but I did start using my water mage in some original fiction.

So this is going to show my actual age, but I started in places like Chatalot and Chathouse back during the late 90's. All HTML chat rooms. Stumbled over after getting my first real home PC and had Dial up Modems to connect to the internet.

You know, AOL.

hmmm, I first started roleplaying in an olllllld browser based chat box when I was 15 13, almost 14 years ago. I would RP as a basic elf character Named Leverna. I started Erotic RP when I was 18 though on Kik. Made some friends on there. I usually RPd furries or Neko types. Now I use My Tauren or My Elf to RP/ERP with since I have actual art of both of them that was commissioned for me.

I have been 'roleplaying,' after a fashion, since I was just a child. Five, maybe six years old, perhaps? Everyone plays 'pretend,' I think, but I took my foolishness to another level; the people or things I pretended to be had their own stories, sometimes even odd but specific biological requirements and complicated psychological responses to certain things. There had to be a reason for each and every thing that I did, some deeper motivation than just a kid wanting to get the wiggles out.

As I aged, this only got more complicated. I could spin a very, very long tale about smuggling D&D books into my own room, or meeting up with a friend at a Cici's Pizza and going home with him, only to play in my very first vampire LARP the very next day - but then I'd seem quite wordy and obnoxious. For me, it was not "this" kind of roleplay, although some of the people who went there did so seemingly just to hook up. I discovered an online text-based MUD at some point after that (which I credit with teaching me how to type) and began chatting in-character with everyone I could find. Inevitably at some point someone uses a custom emote in the game, and one thing leads to another and you have elf sex. I started looking for other venues with a wider variety of like-minded roleplayers, and found House Eros. It's gone, now, and its successor is soon to fold, as well. So, here I am.
