I think i was like 16 at the time amd i just downloaded discord.. the first thing i was invited to was a anime server, and they were just doing weird ass stuff, the next thing i knew someone dmed me and asked if i kmew how to rp, i didnt know wtf that was so i just said YES. My dumbass. So they started to say the plot and i just started to caught on the more we did it. Few years later and im a LEGEND

Legend of Krystal forum. Most of my RPs absolutely would not be allowed here, so I don't recommend trying to find them, very much not for the faint of heart. It's kind of funny to think about, I was responsible for most of the ERPing that was done there for literal years.

I think I started on Solia, when that was more forum based, & then left when it got to the way it is now.

I technically started Roleplaying when I was in my late teens and a high-school buddy of mine introduced me to Gaiaonline back when it was a roleplay based website. I obsolutely loved making a lot of friends on that site and having all my days filled up with rp from just basic character hang out to full on stories.

I miss the bar/tavern scenes too when you can just walk in with an OC from your profile, and hang out with other OCs. Those were hella cool days.

I was a hugeeeee warrior cats fan when I was in 7-8 th grade. At the time it was called "warrior cats rpg" but over time it changed into Feral Front. I was on that site for yearsss until it sadly lost funding :( and shut down

i was easily 12? when i first started forum roleplay. it was on a site called chicken smoothie and it was a pet adoptable site, but had rp on the side. i meandered over to advanced scribes when i kept getting hounded for mature themes. advanced scribes has shut down (i think?), but i was inactive for a while after a change in leadership fostered an EXTREMELY clique-y attitude. i made a lot of friends there and i missed the community so i seriously - as of like 30 minutes ago - just looked up roleplaying sites and found this one!

Technically, I started roleplaying on Kidzbop.com back in the late 2000s when it used to be a social site. Then I moved onto Charatrp which quickly turned south, but that's where I did most of my roleplays, so I just say that was the first since it's a lot easier to explain than the Kidzbop.com video comment section sonic and creepypasta roleplays.

Started doing a spot of RPing on deviantart before they got all up in arms about what its is people look for, shutting down most of the groups that dedicated to it.

Did some image RP on a site called iscribble. That's gone ages ago.

Then went on my first proper rp site called House of eros. Before I got banned there.

Guilty pleasures. Banned then the site went under.

Dream Realm, i think, that site went under.

RP nation, left when they started getting extremely limited.

Some other site I can't even spell that I left after finding out it was apparently a 'no-no' using face claims of characters from another artist. Plus it was overall bad there.

RP guilds. That site is meh.

Then been on Bluemoon. Got banned.

Dahila something, I can't spell. Ok? Got banned.

Aaaaaaand now I'm just kinda here and on E just... shruggs

San Antonio, TX (Lackland AFB). It was 1980. AD&D 2nd Ed. I was 18. Up until then I had been a hardcore Sci Fi fan. The first fantasy book I read was Quag Keep by Andre Norton (which was based on the World of Greyhawk).

My first PBM (yes, I mean snail mail) was in 1989. Space Opera by FSU based with a friend still in the military. We lost contact when Desert Storm started.

First PBEM was in 2003 in Yahoo Groups. My first group was a Star Trek RP in which the GM was absent. Not sure WHO approved my character. But the first thing someone did was bunny the heck out of my character in a way that was a glagrant violation of the character's nature. (They had my Vulcan grinning and taking a chomp out of something very non vegan.) So I created an RP of my own. That RP lasted a few years.

Yahoo Groups got worse and less trafficked until I went looking for RP sites. I have come to the conclusion that group RP's are a thing of the past - except maybe dice based.

I don't know if anyone else ever used Feralfront. I started on there back in 2018 in high school, and it helped me cope with a lot of things going on in my life. Like a creative outlet of sorts. I went off it in about 2020 and it shut down so I have been rusty in getting back into rping, but I think it would be a great thing to start up again.

I first started roleplaying when I was about 13, on Neopets of all places. The forums were generally a safe space to practice writing relatively wholesome themes. Eventually I moved up to Gaiaonline for a bit. When I got into university I put a bit of a pause on things while I focused on getting that all sorted out. I'm glad to have jumped back into roleplaying since though.

Most of my adventures the last 5 years were through D and D, although I found the pandemic put a bit of a halt on many of those adventures sadly. I think that's what makes me most excited to have an online space where I don't have to worry about meeting people in person to build a story. Thjerre's just something liberating about writing out characters and seeing how they flourish and grow or slowly fade out.

Soooooooo, I'm 30 now and I started when I was 12, on this RP forum for a child novel series called Warriors. This is about cats, wild cats that live in four separate clans. You follow this ginger kitten who runs away from home and joins ThunderClan and became Firepaw, he starts off as an apprentice and eventually becomes a Warrior and renamed Fireheart. The series is 6 books and lots of stuff goes down. By the end when I stopped reading those, they had 2 more sequel series and yadda yadda yadda. Who knows how much has been made since.

Ok going back to the Forum, you made your OC cat and you joined a clan. The clan leaders were moderators and they would promote you based on your growth in your writing, grammar, and descriptiveness in your adventures. This really helped me become the writer I am today believe it or not.

Obviously, I got older--outgrowing the whole cat thing and you know that teen angst couples well with smut, so AHEM, I was underaged at the time but I joined adult RP forums and got my freak on for several years--that was Yaoi Haven and i never got caight being under age. RP led me to write my own novels and I have 3... "4" series in the making but sadly I'm super critical of my own work so it's really hard for me to sit down and just tell my characters what they're doing instead of letting them run my book. You know how it goes lolz

So that how I started ^^
