Hello there, darlings - and... you know what? Let's start this on the right foot.
We never anticipated the changes we would undergo as a community, but here we are, in 2023, still strong and together.
Umbra was 'born' on June 12th, 2019 - which means today is our BIRTHDAY!!!
Here's a cake for you and a moment of thanks for all the hard work, time, and finances you have all assisted me in coordinating to keep our community up and going.
As we round the corner and begin moving towards our next year, I want to remind you each how much I appreciate you.
Our beliefs, preferences, and interests may differ, but we share this space to write with others. I will continue working to make this place a home for us all. With that in mind, I don't do it alone - I rely on each of you to help by letting me know when something seems... off. I rely on the Leadership Team to greet new faces, celebrate current ones, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
With that in mind - I would like to formally announce that our local Guy of Writing - RPGuy19, has expressed his interest in moving up the ladder from our Welcome Wagon to a full-fledged site assistant. He is around to answer questions, help with events, and work with the Leadership team to keep up with all our site adventures.
These adventures include a new theme I have worked on over the last few weeks. I have had some users on site acting as guinea pigs for me to ensure it worked correctly on several platforms, and I am happy to announce that today I will begin the process of switching the site default over to this new theme;
'Umbra Reimagined'
It is inspired by the original Umbra theme Nevermind developed- I will make another theme using the original color palette. With this experience, I can begin specifying and personalizing these themes to allow for new color combinations. Stay tuned for that!
We have so many ideas and plans, and I hope you will continue to support us as we begin putting them into play.

Watching you all get to know one another, play games in our forums, look for stories, and develop relationships is all I can hope for and more.
