If you haven't watched The Vampire Diaries, I highly recommend it. It's cheesy in the beginning bc it's like 15 years old, but it gets so much better as it goes. My favorite is the spin off, The Originals, because it's so dark and nitty-gritty and closest you'll come to Dracula-style vampires. Klaus is one of my favorite characters of all time and you'll see that as you watch him develop. My favorite female character is more of a major spoiler, so I can't really say much but she becomes the most powerful creature in existence in that universe. And now Legacies is so good too, ugh. I'm obsessed with this universe personally.

Me too I hope they're okay because that is such a long time for someone not to even give a heads up about an RP. D: It sucks when people just disappear like that, oof. I've actually just started from the beginning on the show and Idk why. THERE'S 10 SEASONS!? Fuck. lmao I'll catch up to Freak Show in no time tho. I guess the first season is Murder House?

I have read the Vampire Diaries books but they got slightly weird after Elena became a vampire - she suddenly regressed into a kind of toddler in the books and I found it quite uncomfortable. I stopped at around Book 5, there are at least fourteen books. I did enjoy them though. I did start to watch the TV show but felt intimidated by the amount of seasons - much like when I started Gilmore GIrls. The only vampire books I've read (embarassignly for someone so interested in the gothic genre) are the Twilight books, which are in some ways influenced by early gothic tropes. They are just so bad they are good. I am planning on reading Dracula and Rice's Interview With The Vampire soon (I think she is the author who hates people writing fanfiction about her books?).

We are still in touch which is good because most people just disappear without a word, but they are such a talented writer (much like you!) and their responses bring me so much joy - and also just talking to them generally. I know thats weird, but I am really serious about roleplaying and the people I write with slowly become friends. They haven't done anything wrong, its just a shame really that their circumstances have changed - really I shouldn't be so impatient. I think its also because I have been ghosted before and always worry that I have done something wrong or there is something wrong with my writing. Ghosting is the worst.

There are so many seasons, but honestly they do worsen. You don't have to watch them in chronological order, I just kind of watched Murder House, Asylum, skipped the witchy one and watched Freak Show. I then returned to the witchy season, finished it, started Cult, watched Apocolypse and was now in the middle of the Hotel one. Really, the later seasons are disappointing. Murder House is the first season and its actually a good one, but quite shocking.

I'm really sorry I haven't responded. I got quite busy, low in mood and then unwell.

I never actually read the books, but I enjoyed the show. But my friend has read and watched both and she prefers the show. She considers them two separate entities because Elena doesn't seem to have a toddler mindset as a vampire - at least in the show she doesn't. There's a lot of differences from both so I suppose that's why she considers them separate. I've gone back to rewatch that show too, so I'm going through a refresher. lol Once you start watching the show, the seasons go by quickly but I can see how they it's intimidating (I feel the same way about AHS lol). I'm actually not much of a reader, surprisingly enough. I enjoy reading historical non-fiction, frugality/minimalism books, but most of the time if it's any fantasy or supernatural/horror, it's audiobooks I like. I do like reading fanfiction and roleplays though. I just prefer to write.

OH! That's good you're still in touch at least. And thank you for that. You're such a talented writer too. It's rare when you come across someone who you can mesh well with writing and get along with just talking. so I don't think it's weird at all. I've met people who I know in real life now who were RP partners first on message boards, so roleplay holds a special place in my heart and it's one of my favorite passions. I love to write fanfiction too. :) Maybe they'll come back around to write again soon. I would keep a positive look out on that. I'm still glad they're keeping in touch though. ♡ Ghosting is definitely the worst for sure. Not sure if it's worse in dating or with writing partners lmao

It is quite jarring the first episode but I already like it. I think I'll follow your list on AHS and how you watch it. I work in a communications center for the state, so downtime for me happens quite often. I have plenty of time to write and watch shows until there's something that needs my attention on one of the hundreds of computer terminals I babysit lol.

No worries hon. Just respond when you can. I'm quite patient and I just enjoy talking to you just the same. ^^ Your reply will be worth the wait.

Yes, I definitely got the vibe that the books were completely different from the TV show. I think they made some slight changes in terms of casting, for instance Bonnie had red hair in the books, and I think Elena had blond. I heard that Kat Graham got some grief and was treated poorly while on the show. I do read sometimes, when I have the time. I like Stephen King a lot and was making my way through some of his older novels. I have a great interest in horror but can also enjoy the genre through film - I watched Silence of the Lambs and really enjoyed it. Gosh, that reminds me that I need to finish the Handmaids Tale. Completely forgot about it. I was also starting to watch Hemlock Grove whic is a really good werewolf-y show.

I would recommend watching Apocolypse after Murder House because its technically a sequel and you'll see why when you get to the end.

That's what it was like for The 100. Clarke had RED hair and I'm like that's so weird and Lexa never existed in the books. She was a TV show created character and Octavia was bisexual instead of Clarke. But yeah, sadly Kat was treated poorly and Bonnie ALWAYS got the short end of the stick on EVERYTHING. I'm like this girl can't catch a break. >.< But I really enjoyed her friendship with Damon though. It was pretty special and I kinda shipped them - kinda! but I preferred the brotherly/sisterly bond they had. It was pretty amazing because he did everything to push Bonnie's buttons to piss her off like a brother does! xD At first she hated his guts, but they were forced to get along bc of Elena. It all ended good tho. He calls her Bon Bon and she's like GAH! and you can tell she wants to smack him. lmao But they had each other's backs through it all. They cared about each other.

I LOOOVE The Handmaid's Tale. Omg. That show is so wild!! Omg. But it was addicted and I breezed by that one. <3 Oooh. Apocalypse. Got it. I'm on ep 4 (started this weekend) on Murder House and I get the appeal of this show. This first season is very strange, but I can't stop watch it either. xD My friend watched Hemlock Grove too and she also recommended that one. So many shows, so little time! goodness.

RE what you were saying on discord: Roleplaying is definitely a dying hobby, and this I believe is because people are growing up. I roleplayed a lot as a teen, quite young, and could roleplay with the same people for years. I also think it doesn't help that a lot of websites shut down or cannot be run anymore. A lot of the websites I used to go on ended up closing and a lot of my old roleplays fizzled out. After ten years you begin to notice that people are less dedicated to it as a hobby, perhaps because there aren't that many active communities. I am also quite picky and tend to have some niche interests which limits me in a lot of ways. However, I have noticed that now in comparison to previous years people stick around less and ghosting is more common.

I did try my hand at writing fanfiction, but I prefer sharing a story with another person. It is so thrilling to have no idea what someone is going to respond with next. I think I may write some fanfiction stories, just to give it another go.

I notice that red-heads get switched around a lot in adaptations. Weird. In the book I was reading there was a development with Bonnie's friendship with Damon and I was hoping the same thing that they would get together, dang.

Forget what happens in ep 4. I do like Violet as a main character - usually I don't like main characters but Violet was nice, glad she ended up seeing through Tate's bullshit.

Hemlock Grove was very interesting, however when I watched it a few years ago I couldn't stomach the gore. Now I am a changed woman - can't get enough of the gory details.

I really liked the idea of Bonnie and Damon together personally, but do not get around Delena's and mention that. That is a deathwish waiting to happeen. LOL It's the same with Hosies, Finsies and Hizzies (Hope/Josie, Finch/Josie and Hope/Lizzie - it's a goddamn circus with those shippers lol). Yikes. I just ship Hosie and stay clear. They were the most likely to happen if Kaylee didn't leave Legacies. Damon and Elena and end up together, but it's funny because I always preferred Elena with Stefan and Caroline with Klaus. But Elena did bring out a lot of good in Damon which is why Bonnie was able to tolerate him for longer periods of time xD Some characters do call them out though on their relationship/friendship which is funny.

Yeah that episode was intense! I'm moving along smoothly. I've been hella busy this past week but I'm ready to write again. *puts game face on* So I'm going to get to work on my post soon. :)

Oh, I love the gore! You need to watch last week's episode of Legacies if you like some gory shit... Hope is fucking wild. Her humanity is off and she has some kind of a torture kink for sure. I mean, the way she tortured Aurora (a character in The Originals), like gosh. She stood there with a smile on her face like she enjoyed catching Aurora on fire without the woman's daylight ring. She also put this thing into her chest and it spun INTO her. She used blood to heal Aurora's wounds, and it kept spinning in her chest. Hope was like, "good thing I used a muting spell.. she's a squealer." I'm not sure whether or not Klaus would be proud or disappointed in her right now. I would say disappointed because of how much he grew in The Originals.

Anyway enough of my rambles... off to write my reply! *scampers off*

Have you finished Murder House yet? What are your thoughts on all of the characters?

I can handle most gore, Tarantino style, but I haven't braved the Saw movies yet - some of those traps are brutal. I love watching this Youtuber who takes you through step-by-step tactics on how to beat them all, lol.

Also, don't worry about not replying. I just got my AO3 invite and I am hoping to maybe publish some fanfiction. I have kind of been more motivated to write.
