I looked at it more like Onyx was in the employment of a Staffing agency that specialized in less than stellar enterprises. His pusher connected him to some jobs here and there but they're temporary one time gigs, nothing long term aside from his own dealing. that might change if the money is good enough but who knows how his supply contact will respond to that given how much help he's given Onyx. Might(probably will) really piss him off.

Well seeing as the "rookie" was kinda vague with only that they're the "rookie" as a guide, I didn't want to establish any powerful traits to disrupt the balance of the team.
I gave Onyx, in my own head Canon, physical skill and coordination in unorthodox applications, specifically breakdancing, parkour, and the more mundane, soccer, all stemming from calisthenics.

I Imagined him as the softer edge to the hitter and bruiser, and less violent than Odette and Decca quickly and quietly to ambush, flank, or just simply to take advantage of their distraction and go unnoticed to smash and grab while guards are focused elsewhere. Sure he wants to be flashy but that applies to street wear.
Beyond that climbing, crawling, contorting, all have their uses in moving around the less frequented parts of buildings such as elevator shafts. He's just not that skilled in a variety of things yet. I imagined he'd want to be friends with Easton and Ryder.
As for how he joined the crew I'm not sure outside of the aforementioned "his supplier had a connection to Odette's crew and they were down a body and recruiting" or "were down a body and desparate because of time constraints" I figure the latter seemed more appropriate.

Biography
Despite being the angry old man that Racks is, he had a simple life. Joined the military before he was even out of high school (yes he lied about his age), became a marine, learned the ways of the marine, dropped that shit quick when his daughter (T'hema) who followed in his footsteps was killed in the line of action, and became a merc after that. Needless to say, he's not too much of a fan of government establishments. Or many establishments, really (mothafuckers are jus'tryna bring you down, man!). But you know, the typical action movie storyline.
Racks has spent years as a gun for hire, taking on all kinds of jobs from assassinations to heists, to bounty hunting. Anything to make an honest dollar in a dishonest world. He calls the underground his home--a place where even through all the nitty gritty and deception, he claims is the most real place. Over his years, he's made a good amount of connections that provided him with enough to have a hefty gun collection. And he's learned to use them all.
Coming into the group happened by change. He was a gun for hire, and it was a job. He separated a series of times, but always seemed to be contracted back. It's like they actually liked his work or something. Maybe someone actually liked him. Those fuckers. But, the pay is good. The carnage is good. He gets his worth out of it. And so he begrudgingly accepts the contract every time.

i remember you suggesting the crew needing a body or recruiting but honestly, there was probably a lot less recruiting and more like ooh you can do a thing? you want to do a thing and get paid for it but also make love to the probability that you may die if shit hits the fan. essentially.

hey guys, sorry for the long period of silence~ as you can see arcadia has not been opened yet and a lot of it is because of my personal issues.
for the time being, as sad as it makes me, i'll be placing arcadia on a hiatus for the next month or so.
lately ive been experiencing issues with the base idea of the rp, it's transformed from its original roots to something that i didnt quiet plan for. im not
really interested in the idea of opening an rp on a half baked idea that i can't even make sense of, y'know? i realize that it has been a bit of a bumpy
ride because of how vague and how often i changed things around, which i apologize for. it has made bringing the story together a bit harder on my
part. just know that when it reopens the story will have more depth and a much more definite premise/plot. if you guys are still interested by then
you will still have your characters reserved.
i apologize for any inconveniences i have created ; n ;
if you guys are no longer interested that's quite alright~
