Cue obligatory introduction thread.

Hello there, I'm Dee. You can call me Dee. Or D.

I'm 26 cycles old, and I live in the hipster capital of Australia with my minion-boyfriend. I have roleplayed since I was a scandalous 12 years old, about 14 years on and off. I used to roleplay novella style, now I'm too old and impatient for anyting over 500 words, or under 100.

I don't do fandoms. I won't roleplay established characters from fandoms. I prefer original, characters and settings. I like the nitty gritty, dark and painfully human. I'm painfully shy in-person, so roleplay is my playground to do things I wouldn't do normally. I'm also extremely picky about the characters and writing style of my rp partners, you have been warned.

I like apricots.

What's your favourite thing about roleplaying?

How-DEE! (Get it?)

Welcome to Umbra! I totally understand the crotchety side of things and being picky. Do you have a favorite genre or setting for your roleplays?

Apricots are pretty decent!

My favorite thing about roleplaying is I can do what I want? I can work with someone else in developing an entire world where I can enjoy being cheesy or cliche without feeling judged.

Welcome to Umbra, Dee! Psyched to have some more international writers with us.

I totally understand being picky, as I tend to be so myself. Roleplaying is meant to be fun, so might as well just do it however you like and not waste time with everything else.

I really love raspberries.

My favorite aspect of roleplaying is the collaborative efforts. Writing is fantastic, but when you're doing it solo, it's difficult to surprise yourself. When you add in that second person, it adds multiple layers of surprise, intrigue, mystery, and other fascinating nouns.

Hey guys!

Thank you for the warm welcome <3 I look forward to seeing you around the forum (and maybe RPing?)

@ReireitheSmileFaerie I think my favourite genre at the moment would either be post-apoc, or maybe dark fantasy. Anything but the here and now! I don't really do pre-established settings outside of a loose idea like "knights and demons", or "aquatic grimdark" for example. How about you? Are there any genres don't you don't particularly like?

@Nevermind I agree with the collaborative side of RPing. I feel like writing gets stale when you're by yourself after too long, but having another person come in and bounce ideas around is really nice.
