  • Hi there Guest. As a reminder - when you are updating/editing your threads in the Requests areas - it is sent to our approval queue to be checked against our site rules. It will take about 24 hours to approve and post. Questions can be sent to Auntie Angel!
  • Hi there Guest! This message is to let you know that leadership is aware there is an error in the posting of badges - that the image links themselves are broken. Rei is working to move the items to a different img host, but it may take a little while for the transition to be complete.

IT'S FUCKING SEPTEMBER MY GUYS
I might be inclined to make a 'wake me up when September ends' joke, but I guess that song is about the lead singer's father dying when he was a kid and the band in general really hates those memes. It might be weird of me to respect the opinion of a group of dudes I will never possibly meet in my lifetime but that's how it is sometimes. Anyway, how is everyone? Better than you were, I hope.

Let's get into the monthly news.
GAME NIGHT and LIT CLUB
Have you ever had a hankering to play games with your fellow Umbrans? Cards Against Humanity? Uno, maybe? Jackbox? Have an idea of your own? Check out Rei's thread for dates and times (for quick reference however it's every other week at 8 p.m. PST).

Additionally if you love to read (and if you're an RPer I can't imagine hating reading) Rei also runs a monthly book club. This month the book of choice is Castle in the Air, sequel to Howl's Moving Castle. Head on over to the Lit Club thread for more information.
PLEASE DON'T PANIC
Recently a new member joined and was told that the tennis courts were being treated for a gnome infestation. I am happy to report that the courts have been thoroughly de-gnomed, as in a great deal of gnomes were forcibly flung head over arse out of said courts, and they can now resume regular play for those of you inclined toward such things.

Now, er. That said, there may be some... slightly disgruntled gnomes out and about. Don't be concerned if you find any, just let us know and we'll... we'll deal with it. We and us being the staff.

Don't feed them, either, if you can help it.

(If me playing all coy and silly isn't clear, this month's primary event will be a gnome scavenger hunt. Stay tuned for more details.)
I THINK THAT'S THAT
September is my birth month. I'm one of those people who generally hates his own birthday at worst, or at best tolerates it coming and going. Lately, however, I've been working to turn my outlook around in a lot of ways. Less negativity, less hopelessness, more structure, more goals. I've never done "goals" before. I still don't really get it, if I'm being honest, but I'm trying. I have faith that it will, like so many other things in life, someday 'click' and I'll understand the purpose for myself.

For now, though, I'm just trying to be happy. I hope all of you find moments of happiness. Life can be a struggle sometimes, and this year more than any other seems exceptionally prone to difficulty. Don't give up hope. Don't quit on yourself. Perservere, and we'll all see a better future.

Fuckin' deep for a monthly announcement, isn't it?

Go hug someone you love.
