Okay, I'm aware that I missed January, but I'm ready to roll into February with extra oomph! How's the year starting for you guys? Feeling alright, feeling hopeful? I genuinely hope you do, and I hope this coming year will bring all the good things to your direction. I'm sure this month of Valentine's Day will be extra hard for those not isolating with their significant others, but I still wanted to give you a prompt you can do something romantic with if you wished. Valentine's Day here in Finland is celebrated between platonic friends rather than lovers, but I have to admit, I kinda love the lovey dovey Valentine's stuff you see on American media during February, so here, you can choose what you wish to do with this prompt!

I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the light.- Helen Keller

Most letters I get are just bills, but I do love the thought of sending and receiving letters. They can be delivered different ways too - through mail as usual, or slid into your bag in secret, under the door or given to you physically. There's a sense of excitement when you get a letter, mixed with a sense of dread. Is it good news or bad news? Something sweet, a secret lover or a threat. Make it what you wish, and let us see what you create!

Extra challenge! Make sure to include chocolate in some form.

Dear Dani,

Look at what we've done in nine months.
Look at what we've achieved.
I can't begin to point out where I was and where I am now.
I can't begin to fathom how you've gone from A to B.
Because look at you. Look at us. Look how far we've come...

I'm proud of us, baby.
I'm prouder than I've ever felt. I'm right in that pocket of where I ought to be and where I want to be.
It's something else. It's riveting. It's sheer fucking energy — pumping through my youthful veins.
Twenty-five-years-old and writing for a living.
I'm lucky. I've hit my stride early. Now I've got at least twenty five alive of output — I'll be unstoppable.
All because of you.

I can't take the credit. Because look at you. You're otherworldly-perfect. My Gaia. Sitting in the ocean on your knees with your top off, covering your breasts with your hands and staring up into my eyes giddily, with your white teeth and your dainty little smile, wanting me to touch you. Biting your lip. Communicating only with your eyes — but somehow you're inside my mind.
I love it. I love what we've become. I hate that we've fallen out. Don't cry. It's okay. I know. It's an upset. But don't cry.
We've got years. We'll span across lifetimes. We'll meet again a hundred times over, karmically balanced — that's us.
Now touch me, shush me, run your hands across me — feel wherever you want to feel. Touch my lips and tell me you love me.

Yeah, we're the real ones — we're sad, we're happy, then we're angry at each other, all for nothing...
No, we're the real ones because we're happy, because we're sad, and now we're happy with each other, all for something.
We needed to feel content with our story— it had to become a bittersweet tragedy for us to feel off-scale happiness.
We had to go down to come back up.
Now, let me sit with you in the ocean and hold you and break waves. Don't worry. You aren't going anywhere.

Not now.
Not ever.
Never again.
Wave breaker—

Yours,
- John.

It had been a long day at work and thankfully, Alexandria was done for the day. It was Valentine's Day and she was single this time around so, she stopped by the liquor store to pick up a bottle of wine because she needed the buzz. It was going to be her, the bottle of wine, and cheesy romance movies like the ones that they show on Hallmark. She had sighed softly to herself after the clerk checked her out and he wished her a Happy Valentine's Day, which she scoffed and rolled her eyes at the sentiment. She didn't even bother to reply to him as she exited the building the got back inside of her vehicle.

The drive home was nice and pleasant as always. Although her neighbors were obviously participating in the festivities because they were outside, arms wrapped around each other, lips met with passion, and of course, she rolled her eyes in absolute disgust as she exited her vehicle. Alexandria made her way up to her porch, where she saw a heart-shaped box and a bouquet with a letter attached to them. A brow raised up because she was entirely confused about who could've done this. Was this a joke? Was someone pranking her?

She knelt down to retrieve everything then walked inside her house.

Alexandria dropped down everything down on the counter then tapped her fingers against the counter. It was obvious the heart-shaped box was some chocolates, which she held in her hand then sat them down. She grabbed the small card and tapped it against her other hand then bit down on her bottom lips because of the nerves that welled up inside of her. She was honestly contemplating on who could've done something like this but the only way to find out was to read the card, which was written like a letter. She just took a chance and opened it up, her eyes scanned over every single word as she bit her thumbnail.

Dear Alexandria,

I miss you dearly and apologize for everything that was done and said by me. I hope you've been enjoying yourself and also hope that you don't tear this up yet. If you feel the same way then meet me in the first place we went on a date the day after Valentine's Day at lunch.

Sincerely,
Johnathan

She couldn't help but feel the same way about Johnathan. He was her first love after all. You hardly get over your first love or forget your first love and honestly, she was definitely going to meet him tomorrow. But for now, Alexandria cleaned herself and grabbed her bottle from the freezer, popped a bag of popcorn then settled down underneath a blanket then turned on the television as a movie was just starting. It was one of her favorites and the only thing she could think about was seeing Johnathan tomorrow for lunch.

Tomorrow was going to be a very good day.
